Since the very dawning of the ages,
Even from the genesis of man,
The wisest of the thinkers and the sages
Saw a plan.
A meaning that existed in creation,
A universe with purpose and design,
They sought to know the Mind
Of One that stood behind
The curtain, past the veil, beyond the wall,
They were listening for a Higher, Prior Call.
Then one day something happened unexpected,
The unknown Maker visited His earth,
He came and lived among them undetected
From His birth.
He showed them who He was, but they despised Him,
His testimony they would not believe,
His own would not receive
His coming to relieve
The world of sin, of wormwood and the gall,
They could not hear His Higher, Prior Call.
The secrets God reveals unto His people
Are hidden from the wisdom of the wise,
But gazes cast toward heaven, like a steeple,
Opens eyes.
Objective minds think seeing is believing,
But believing is what really leads to sight:
Abiding in the Light,
We’ll overcome the night
And walk beside the Daystar, standing tall,
Face-to-Face before the Higher, Prior Call.
Face-to-Face before the Higher, Prior Call.
